My passion for design began in 7th grade when I was asked to create a bridal shower bingo card for a cousin in my hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This simple task sparked an interest that would eventually grow into a lifelong passion. I pursued this interest by earning a BFA in Graphic Communications from Northern Michigan University in 2009.

Since then, my career has taken me through a diverse range of companies and experiences, from Kohls and Oracle to Cost Plus World Market, Cree Lighting, Williams-Sonoma, and various agencies and startups in both Milwaukee and the San Francisco Bay areas. While my early career was focused on visual design, over the last 8+ years, I've gravitated more toward user experience, interaction, and interface design. My work in web design evolved into a deeper interest in crafting engaging, user-centered experiences, which led me to concentrate on UX/UI design.

Principles

Fight for the User

Design begins and ends with the user. Understand their unique personas, pain points, needs, and workflows. Always strive to create solutions that improve their experiences and make their lives better.

Keep an Open Mind

Great ideas can come from anyone, anywhere. Stay curious and be open to unexpected sources of inspiration—they often lead to the most innovative solutions.

Collaboration is Key

Strong connections with teammates create smoother workflows. Communicate openly, share updates, and foster understanding to achieve better outcomes together.

Data Fuels Progress

Decisions should be informed by data. Track metrics post-launch and analyze results to assess impact. Numbers don’t lie—they illuminate whether changes are effective or if further adjustments are needed.

Grow Every Day

There’s always room to grow, both personally and professionally. Whether it’s refining existing skills or diving into something new, embrace opportunities to learn and evolve.

Live a Balanced Life

Work matters, but so does everything else. Cultivating a balance between work and personal life helps keep the mind fresh, engaged, and alive. Being present in both spaces leads to a fuller, more meaningful existence.

Outside of Work

When I’m not working on a project, you can usually find me with my two dogs, Aria and Bongo, alongside my husband, at the gym, or in the kitchen trying a new recipe or perfecting an old favorite. I have a passion for being outdoors—whether it’s hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, or camping, I love to stay active and connected with nature.

Traveling is another passion of mine. I’m always looking for new places to explore, whether it’s discovering a local restaurant or setting out on a new adventure with the dogs. I love exploring both domestically and internationally, soaking in the culture, food, and scenery each destination has to offer. Over the past few years, I’ve also set personal goals, like reading more books—I read 30 this past year alone, ranging from fantasy to design and everything in between.

I enjoy challenging myself, from working on a new personal record in deadlifts to learning new activities like crocheting. And when it’s time to unwind, I love relaxing with a game on my Nintendo Switch or diving into plans for the next big trip.
